Awesome Art

Aaron had an art class as part of our homeschool co-op. One day he was supposed to bring in a scripture or a quote to use in some artwork. Being an awesome mother, I totally forgot, which meant he got to come up with his own quote. And that is how I got my new favorite piece of decor:
(For the record, his co-op teacher found it just as hilarious as I did. I'm very grateful this happened at a homeschool co-op and not at public school art class...).

Catherine's art style changed significantly after hanging out with Brianna, Avery and Rebekah over Christmas. Suddenly all her cute little drawings have these giant, anime eyes. I told her I liked her old style better, but she's quite happy with her giant, sparkly eyes. And so, apparently, is Elise. I found this drawing on Jon's work desk (she likes to bring him gifts while he works):

One of Catherine's new favorite activities is holding drawing competitions. She'll lure someone into competing with her, then demand that everyone else in the house judge which picture they like better. I really hate it, but Jon is more willing to pick a favorite. Now that Brianna is back in Arizona, Aaron is her go-to drawing competition buddy. I'm not sure what the theme was for this competition, but we did get some real gems out of it:

Just when I think Aaron's art can't get any better, I get this:
When I asked what it was, he said (like it was perfectly obvious):
"Robert: the most famous man in the world."
(please don't miss Robert's mini-me at the bottom).

Also, one morning when I went to get Catherine up for school, I found her already sitting up in bed with the lights on. Before I could say anything, she turned and said with zero emotion, "I'm making an army of foxes." Definitely got some Lilo and Stitch "my friends need to be punished" vibes.  (She was making a bunch of origami foxes, in case you were wondering about the fox army).

I'm grateful for my kids. Thanks to them I am never, ever bored.

I'm laughing so hard! This is quite possibly the best post on your blog.
