Swimming Lessons

The first day of swimming lessons was the hottest, most miserable day of the summer.  96 degrees with 60-70% humidity.  Heat index was 115 degrees. Aaron, Elise and I stood in the shade the entire time, and still were soaked with sweat and flushed. Elise just gave up and passed out:

Aaron and I both just kind of cried:

Back to air conditioning!
Look at those sweaty curls.

We love living in Maryland during the summer!

Between holding Elise and pushing Aaron on the swings, I never had a chance to take pictures of Seth and Catherine during their lessons. They both did great and worked hard (my kids aren't fish--they like water, but not putting their faces in it). This year was especially fun because we had the Andersons, Hutchinsons and Uhligs at lessons with us. Standing around and sweating is more fun with friends around.

Catherine was finally brave enough to survive lessons in the big pool, and she did great!
(It helps that the crazy Nazi teachers from previous years weren't there anymore).

Seth was so proud to have passed his level 3 lessons.
He worked really hard this year!
