The Cast Saga

We started 2018 off with a totaled van and a broken wrist. Woo hoo?

We scheduled an orthopedic appointment ASAP.
Meaning while we were driving home in our 15 passenger van.
But it was not soon enough for Little Miss "I remove my splint every time I nap" Blood:

Finally, it was time for the big day. Jon took her since he's the official my-daughter-broke-her-bone specialist. Elise was given the option of many different colors for her cast, but she was quite sure of which one she wanted:
Purple all the way!

Unfortunately, casts make things complicated. Things like climbing. And bathing. And wearing gloves that aren't ridiculously ginormous:

Also, a random picture of Aaron from that day:

Thankfully it wasn't a bad break and baby bones heal quickly. She only had to have the cast on for three weeks before she was free. Unfortunately it was a rather traumatic experience. She did not appreciate having her arm x-rayed, nor did she appreciate the incredible loud cast-removing saw. Jon said the nurse didn't give him any warning or any chance to calm her down. Poor little girl! But then it was off and it was back to all the tubs, all the climbing, and all the self-tattoos!

Free at last!
