LASIK

Jon talked about it for years, but just never could pull the trigger. Not sure what changed this year, but he was finally ready. It was LASIK time.

We knew from talking with friends & family that the first day would be rough. Even with that knowledge, it was still a little unnerving to see him in pain during the drive home (it was fairly bright and hurt his eyes). Thankfully once we got him home and let him take a good four hour nap, he was much better. The best part was that he got to sport sunglasses all day. Yep, sunglasses at night! The kids had a great time trying on his sweet, sweet LASIK shades:

He was quite annoyed at the time he had to waste putting drops in his eyes that first week or two. Sleeping with weird plastic eye coverings wasn't much fun either. But soon he was enjoying excellent, contact-free vision! It was still a bit weird to see his blood-rimmed irises for a couple of weeks, but thankfully he had no issues and is banking on another decade or two of perfect vision.

Blood rimmed irises sound a bit creepy, but LOVE all the pictures of smiling Jon in his shades.
