We spent the 20th just relaxing at home after Winterhaven the night before.
And eating flour, straight from the measuring cup.
A delectable Christmas treat.
But on the 21st we were off again--this time to the Desert Museum.
Half the fun of going to the Desert Museum is the gorgeous drive along narrow roads that may or may not send you plummeting over a cliff.
Seth riding a javalina.
Statue.
Digging for fossils.
After we did this, this was ALL he kept asking about.
"Can we go back and dig now? I want to dig!"
Beth & Marah also enjoy digging for fossils with really, really blunt metal tools.
The Princess preferred to spend her time being generally adored by her grandpa.
The rare desert Seth Tortoise, with powerful tongue-sticking-out action
Brian has saddled and tamed the wild tortoise...
Only to end up becoming a tortoise himself!
(This time with powerful swimming action)
Once again, Catherine preferred to stay in her royal carriage and dine.
In the aviary this duck took a very, very personal dislike to Brian.
Hissing, lowering his head, charging...it was all very ferocious.
Brian's kneecap was terrified.
Failing to take down Brian, the duck selected the weakest member of our group to threaten instead.
Bethany really was terrified.
Good thing she had a purse that doubled as a duck-deflecting shield.
Getting ready to leave.
Note: me with no makeup (again), grabbing Seth's head to keep him looking at the camera.
Family picture in the parking lot.
And now you can see why I was grabbing Seth's head in the other shot.

Three year old boys are so silly -- your turning Seth's head to the camera is making me laugh because it's so close to home!
Too funny! Looks like you all had a great time.
