We began the holiday season with a little bit of tree decorating:
Yep.
That's our tree.
We'll buy a bigger one once we actually start staying home for Christmas.
As it is, this one is perfect for Seth-sized decorating (using only non-breakable ornaments).
We also started off December with everyone's favorite winter tradition: stomach flu.
Amazingly, Seth never caught it. The rest of us had a rough couple of days.
I had scheduled a photo shoot for the kids to surprise the grandparents with at Christmas. But then we found out that our favorite photographer was moving to Utah in January, so we decided to do a family session instead.
Prerequisites to a family photo shoot:
*cute new brown shoes for both kids
*no cute brown shoes for me, despite my best attempts at finding some
*cute new sweater for Catherine that was supposed to be $5. Actual amount as seen later? $12.99. Oops.
*cancelled haircut appointment, resulting in a fairly awful Seth haircut by yours truly
*one cranky Princess with a terrible cold (including a runny nose)
*one baptism right before, one piano recital after
*one ridiculously cold day
Basically, I told Krystal it would be a miracle if she got a single decent shot.
Well, my friends, apparently she's a legitimate miracle worker:
Krystal, thank you again. We're going to miss you so much, and not just because of your photo-taking skills.
(any chance you could fly back here every year or so for a family photo shoot?)

You'd never have guessed that your kids were grumpy and sick and cold. Those are great photos. and your kids are super cute. Catherine has such BLUE eyes!

Wow those are such amazing pictures and you guys are a very good looking family.
I am impressed! Family photos are so hard to get good ones, kids are just soooo tricky! But I bet it wasn't too hard considering the cuteness levels in your family are so high! :)
