Years ago I went with some friends for lunch at the cutest little tea shop. They had amazing flavors of tea, plus adorable little sandwiches and pastries. I've wanted to bring Elise here for a LONG time, but the stars never aligned. We did have one false start, when we tried to just show up without an appointment (not a good idea), but thankfully she was appeased when we stopped for a treat somewhere else (and I vowed to call and make an appointment ASAP). Finally, the big day arrived! Elise picked out both of our fancy outfits:

Elise was charmed by the whole thing, just like I expected she would be!
There were sugar cubes in that dish.
And little silver tongs.
Perfection.
I got strawberry and cream tea, she got cotton candy (and then drank mine instead).
She also got a cute little array of sweets:
I loved getting to spend this time with Elise, and she's already begging to go back.
